Oct 09, 2018#0183;#32;The greenblazed Lime Kiln Trail is mile long (one way) and visits the northernmost section of the Shawangunk Mountains. To the southwest, they reach a height of 2,200 feet above sea level. Here, the highest elevations are about 400 feet.

LimeKiln trail ( short loop and long loop) The LimeKiln trail starts at the paved parking lot near the lime kiln ruins and at the stairs near campsite 38. The trail is marked with blue dots and traverses part of the Niagara Escarpment State Natural Area.

Sep 07, 2019#0183;#32;Lime Kiln Trail I went on a cloudy day, leaving the trailhead just after 9:00 so there was plenty of parking. I had a nice quiet hike only encountering a handful of early hikers on their way out.

Here a short loop path takes off left to a graveled bar on the Stilly. Its a great place for snacking, resting and reflecting on the surrounding areas fascinating history and charming beauty.

May 26, 2015#0183;#32;This was our first time to the Lime Kiln Trail, although we are familiar with popular hikes along the Mountain Loop Highway. We had two adults and age 6, 8, and 10 years. It was our first hike together this season, and the round trip tired us out, but we enjoyed it.
